Művészi pályáját jelentősen meghatározták az 1980-as években Svédországban töltött évek.

A K.A.S. Galériában most kiállított munkái ennek a több évtizedes festői gondolkodásnak egy újabb állomása. Balla munkáiban az anyag fizikai jelenléte, a természeti erők, a gesztus és a tudati folyamat ugyanannak az alkotói tapasztalatnak a részei.

A kiállítás megtekinthető: 2026. október 14-ig a galéria nyitvatartási idejében.

Nnyitvatartás: szerda, csütörtök, péntek 15:00 - 18:00

ATTILA BALLA | SUPRAMENTAL WORLDS

"When I paint, I enter a vast, open, infinite space where the energies open a gateway inside me. Stepping through it, I connect with the infinity of my own consciousness."The defining questions in Attila Balla’s painting are the relationships between material, gesture, and consciousness. He views his paintings as imprints of an experiential and sensory process, and for a long time, he has named consciousness itself as the subject of his art.His artistic career was deeply shaped by the years he spent in Sweden during the 1980s. He studied applied graphics and design at the Konstfack in Stockholm, gradually moving from graphic thinking toward painting and abstraction. He returned to Hungary in 1988, where he studied painting at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. Today, he lives and works in seclusion in Csongrád.Since the 1990s, his gesture-based, expressive painting has been connected to the traditions of Art Informel and Abstract Expressionism. In his works, he uses liquid concrete, wax, resin, pigments, ore dust, colored sand, and his own handmade cast paper. On these thick, sculptural, and often relief-like surfaces, the material itself helps shape the artwork: it reacts, resists, and transforms.Transcendent states of mind and ecstatic, Dionysian creative experiences play a vital role in his painting. The experience of nature and infinite space has also become a key element for him. For Balla, landscape is not a subject to depict, but a starting point. The wind, water, erosion, movement, lines of force, and rhythms appear as analogies of his own inner energies and psychological processes."When I am out in nature painting, I mostly observe the movements of my own inner conscious energy. I know that the human microcosm is identical to the infinite universe we experience outside."The works now on display at K.A.S. Galéria represent the latest chapter in this decades-long painterly philosophy. In Balla’s art, the physical presence of the material, the forces of nature, the gesture, and the conscious process are all parts of the exact same creative experience.
